In this special evening, writer Phil Cousineau hosts comparative religion scholar Karen Armstrong and Professor of Buddhist studies Dr. Robert Thurman for a discussion of "The Spiritual Quest" as both a personal and religious phenomenon. The conversation will draw from personal experiences and both guests' extensive knowledge of different religious traditions to illuminate some of the individual and universal dimensions of the spiritual quest. This program will be videotaped and broadcast as a part of LINK TV's Global Spirit series, which will premiere on U.S. television on April 12.

About the Participants:

Karen Armstrong is a British author of numerous works on comparative religion, who first rose to prominence with her highly successful A History of God. A former Catholic nun, Armstrong has recently called for a council of Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders to draw up a 'Charter of Compassion' to foster greater global understanding, an interfaith initiative which was awarded the 2008 TED Prize.

Robert Tenzin Thurman is a prolific writer, the co-founder of Tibet House U.S., and professor of Indo-Tibetan studies at Columbia University. In 1997, Thurman was named by Time magazine as one of its 25 most influential Americans, describing him as a "larger than life scholar-activist destined to convey the dharma, the precious teachings of Siddhartha, from Asia to America."

Phil Cousineau is a writer, teacher, storyteller and close collaborator of Joseph Campbell and Huston Smith. He lectures frequently on mythology, movies, writing, mentorship and creativity.
